The key to a successful job is in the preparation! Prepare your stone or paving with the Berger Jet Dry preparation system prior to sealing.
To start, use Berger Jet Dry Active Clean to clean the surface. Berger Jet Dry Active Clean is formulated to clean tough oil and grease stains from concrete and paving surfaces.
Follow the dilution table on pack, and apply using a stiff bristle broom. Allow the solution to sit on the surface for 15 minutes without drying out.
Clean the surface thoroughly with water and allow to dry before proceeding.
Bare concrete will need to be etched using Berger Jet Dry Active Etch. If you are coating natural stone, check if the surface is sufficiently prepared to be sealed by performing a simple water bead test. Drop beads of water on the surface. If the water absorbs into the surface, it is ready to be coated. If the water beads on the surface, it is not porous enough for a sealer to penetrate the surface, and will need to be etched.

Use Berger Jet Dry Active Etch to etch the surface. Berger Jet Dry Active Etch roughens the surface to provide a key for a coating to adhere to. Berger Jet Dry Active Etch is a safer alternate to hydrochloric acid, and its rinse residue will not harm plants.
Mix Berger Jet Dry Active Etch into water, following the dilution instructions on pack. Apply using a stiff bristle broom. Allow the solution to sit on the surface for 15 minutes. Clean the surface throughly with water and allow to dry. Check the surface is ready to be painted by performing another water bead test. If the water beads on the surface, it is not sufficiently prepared and you'll need to complete the etching step again. The surface should feel like 180 grit sandpaper. Berger Jet Dry Stone & Paving Sealer in Natural is a true penetrating sealer and may be driven on after 12 hours of application.
Use Berger Jet Dry Stone & Paving Sealer in Wet Look to enhance the natural appearance of the surface. Apply 2 coats to your surface. More coats may be required on porous surfaces. Use on paths and patios. (Berger Jet Dry Stone & Paving Sealer in Wet Look may not be driven on)
Once you have chosen your desired product, apply using brush, roller or spray, according to directions on pack.
